Simona Halep married her long-time boyfriend Toni Iuruc in a civil ceremony in Constanta, her hometown on the Black Sea on Wednesday, two weeks before her 30th birthday.
Halep, currently ranked at No.13 has announced her engagement to the 42-year-old wealthy Romanian businessman in June.
The couple were first seen after she won Wimbledon in 2019.
Ms Halep confirmed the wedding rumours when she returned from the US Open after losing in the fourth round.
“It’s a different kind of excitement than winning a Grand Slam. It’s my private life, while tennis is tennis,” the 29-year-old said.
It is a first marriage for Ms Halep and a third for Mr Iuruc.
