Fabio Fognini will attempt to kick-start the final stage of his ATP career with new Argentine coach Alberto Mancini in charge.
The colourful Italian, 33, who won the Monte Carlo title in 2019, will try his luck on the Tour with the former player onside.
“He hired me because he wants to finish his career at the highest level, which he has maintained for the last decade,” the 51-year-old Mancini said.
The South American, a one-time Argentine Davis Cup captain, told Ubitennis he is enthused at the chance to work with the ATP No. 17, who underwent surgeries on both ankles this virus-interrupted season.
“Fabio is exceptionally talented, I think he can still be a top-level player. If he keeps the same momentum, then he will be able to overcome the injuries he has had and face everyone, because his game is impeccable.”
