Felix Auger-Aiassime finished with his 11th ace to move into seventh in the chase to the ATP Finals with a 6-4, 6-4 title win over American JJ Wolf.

FAA, who lost the first eight finals of his career, lifted his fourth trophy of this season.

“Every final is tough, it’s the two best players of the week,” he said. “I came out here today ready to give everything.

“There’s no magic. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

“It’s never an easy position; to come out and win my four matches with confidence and conviction, it’s really good for my confidence.”

The Canadian needed an hour and three quarters to put away No. 75 Wolf, who saved nine of a dozen break points.

“I had a good start in the first game and then a bit of a tight first service game,” Auger-Aliassime said.

“But then after I felt like I was playing really good tennis, serving unbelievable.

“Probably the best (I served) all week, I’m just really happy right now.”
