As second seed Felix Auger-Aliassime pulls out of the Next Generation finals, Juan Manuel Cerundolo has become the first south american player in the event’s history to qualify.
As one of 31 title-winners this year, Argentinian Cerundolo was on the alternate list, but has been called up to fill the Canadian’s space.
The 19-year-old is currently at a career-high ranking of 85, after winning his first title this year in Cordoba.
As for Felix Auger-Aliassime, he remains in the Paris masters and is still scheduled to play at the stockholm open. Hoping to contend for one of the remaining tour finals spots.
