Roger Federer has travelled to Lesotho in his mother’s native South Africa on a flying visit to promote aid work being done by his charity foundation.
The 20-time Grand Slam champion who retired last September, has been on the move in recent weeks, attending the Met Gala in New York as an organiser and taking in the Miami GP from the pit lane.
The 41-year-old Swiss revealed the trip on his social media account.
“So happy to be with my family in Lesotho on a @rogerfederer.foundation trip,” he wrote.
His Swiss-run foundation has long worked with underprivileged children in South African townships with focus on education.
Federer spent his first day on meetings with local officials, promoting the goal of universal education for all ranges of society – with help from foundations like his plus government.
