Ex-Nick Kyrgios girlfriend Ajla Tomljanovic said on Wednesday she never experienced any domestic violence from her fellow player during their two-year relationship.
The Australian spoke after losing a Wimbledon quarter-final 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 to Elena Rybakina, with Tomljanovic insisting she is unaware of the current Kyrgios legal difficulties.
The Wimbledon quarter-finalist has been summoned to a court in his hometown of Canberra to address possible domestic violence to a former partner Chiara Passari in Australia last October.
Kyrgios lawyers have made clear that the court date set for August 2 does not now refer to criminal charges.
“ACT Policing can confirm a 27-year-old Watson man is scheduled to face the ACT Magistrates Court on the 2nd of August in relation to one charge of common assault following an incident in December 2021,” Australian police said.
Tomljanovic said in response to a post-match question in London: ” I mean, I haven’t had that experience with him.”
She added: “I’m not really aware of exactly what’s being said about whatever his past relationship and the allegations. I don’t know what it is.
“It’s been a while since our relationship (2015-2017) ended. Obviously I’ve always kept my relationship very private. I would like to keep it like that.
“I’m definitely against domestic violence. I hope it gets resolved.”
