Empty press room for Jabeur

Wimbledon officials were left embarrassed when second-round winner Ons Jabeur was greeted by an empty press room.

“Is no one coming”, the Tunisian joked. “I have been announced? But there is no one here.”

When one journalist eventually arrived, the 28-year-old added:

“Be careful, there’s a lot of people. And if you can find a seat.” she said.

“Oh, they went for the weekend. Everybody went for the weekend.”

A video of the moment was posted on Twitter, but then disappeared, with rumours that it was taken down at the request of Wimbledon.
