Rafael Nadal left nothing to chance as the Spaniard arrived five full days prior to Sunday’s start of the ATP Finals in Turin.
The 22-time Grand Slam champion who has played – and lost – only one match since September’s US Open due to a lingering abdominal injury, touched down in northern Italy on Tuesday and was met by a handful of fans at his hotel entrance steps.
The Spaniard was already at work on Wednesday morning, with social media showing pictures of his first training session at the Pala Alpitour where group competition starts on Sunday at the eight-man event.
