Roger Federer on Monday pulled out of this month’s Miami Masters but will still make his return to tennis next week in Doha.

He will then return to his training base in Dubai to play that ATP event.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion will not bother with a scaled-down COVID version of Miami, which will stage it’s ATP-WTA event in a stadium parking lot with a maximum of 750 ticketholders allowed in per day.

The 39-year-old has not played since January, 2020, and underwent two knee procedures last season,
