Novak Djokovic will hope to headline at the ATP Dubai event at the end of the month after curing the leg injury which bothered him on the way to this 10th Australian Open title at the weekend.
The Serb returned to world No. 1 status this week after defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets in the AO final.
While giving little away about the injury which could have derailed his trophy run, the winner of 22 Grand Slam trophies said he is working to get completely fit for the prestige ATP 500 date in the emirate.
“I’m going to do some medical check-ups in the next few days, then I’ll be able to talk about it a bit more and understand the situation,” Djokovic said at a media event in Melbourne after his win..
“As it stands today, I’m still signed in for the Dubai tournament in a month’s time.
“I hope I’ll be able to come back to the courts in several weeks.”
