Djokovic dumps Britain from Davis Cup

Novak Djokovic brought a crashing end to Britain’s 2023 Davis Cup dream as the Serb sewed up a 2-0 win into the semi-finals on Thursday.

The 2-0 scoreline after victories from Miomir Kecmanovic and his world No. 1 compatriot ended British hopes for a side missing Andy Murray and Dan Evans through injury in Spain.

Kecmanovic, a Serb substitute, beat Jack Draper 7-6 (2), 7-6 (6), while Cam Norrie went down to Djokovic 6-4, 6-4 as the Serbs sealed the tie.

Djokovic has now won his last 21 singles rubbers in the competition.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion ended on a roll with an ace to conclude a love game and complete the win.

Serbia demolished Britain with the pair of straight-set wins, never facing break points in all of the four sets while their opponents did not manage to get to a deuce scoreline in any game.
