Davis Cup set for Abu Dhabi move

The Davis Cup Finals are set to move to Abu Dhabi next year.

The International Tennis Federation will finalise the move, believed to be a five-year deal, with investment partners Kosmos next week in Madrid.

The event will begin in November and run over 12 days, ending in early December.

This year’s event, which begins today, is being held in three different countries.

Turin, Innsbruck and Madrid are the venue and Madrid will host the finals.

The move comes after it was revealed the 2019 event lost millions of dollars.

The Abu Dhabi investment will go some way to easing those losses, but already some have warned they might no travel so late in the year.
