Britain’s Harriet Dart produced a stunning comeback to shock Elina Svitolina 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 and book a place in round three at Indian Wells on Friday.
Svitolina looked in command easily, after the match was delayed due to a broken net, and broke Dart on four occasions but looked a little shaky on her own serve.
Dart recovered from break point in the first game of the second set as she put together a run that put the Olympic bronze medallist in trouble.
The Brit broke Svitolina three times in a row to take a 5-3 lead and served to take out the set.
Dart then took advantage of some loose play from Svitolina to break first and take a 3-0 lead.
Svitolina fought back but Dart stuck to her game and won out, to face Kaia Kanepi or Belinda Bencic in round three.
