Emma Raducanu’s fitness was called into question after she broke down during a practice session at Flushing Meadows on Friday.
The Brit was comforted consoled by coach Dmitry Tursunov as she appeared to suffer problem with her right hand.
Raducanu then told reporters she had a couple of blisters which had given her pain.
“I think that today, the practice, I had, like, a few small things, got a couple of blisters, a bit of a niggle here and there,” Raducanu said.
“It’s just one of those weird days where you feel a bit like nothing… I don’t know. You just feel a bit out of it.
“Can’t really explain myself, to be honest. I’m sure everyone in this room has probably had a day like that. It is what it is.”
Raducanu has had repeated problems with blisters this year.
