Big Slam support for Sakkari in Melbourne

Rising Greek star Maria Sakkari will have massive local support when she arrives in Australia this week to prepare for the Australian Open.

Melbourne hosts the largest Greek community outside of Greece.

Sakkari flew out of Athens yesterday with coaches Tom Hill and Giannis Stergiou and will begin her campaign Down under in Adelaide next week at the WTA 500 event.

Eight of the world’s top ten will compete there, including the top three, Ash Barty, Aryna Sabalenka and Garbine Muguruza.
