Azarenka dumped by Schmiedlova in straight sets

Victoria Azarenka’s unhappy French Open campaign is over – beaten 6-2 6-2 by Slovakia’s Anna Karolina Schmiedlova.

The Belarussian, who moaned about the cold conditions in the previous round, fell apart in straight sets against her 161st-ranked opponent.

Schmiedlova, who beat Venus Williams in round one, had one scary moment at 1-1 in the second set, but was rarely troubled.

Azarenka failed to find any form, hitting 37 unforced errors in day she would prefer to forget.
