Around the world in 14 days and 80 plants

Having worked as a photographer at all the Grand Slams for the last 25 years I have seen all the venues claiming to be “the best in the world”

Whilst in my opinion Wimbledon always has been and always will be the most prestigious Slam in terms of the traditions of the game, The French Tennis Federation have produced a most futuristic looking and aesthetically pleasing venue. I haven’t of course been able to see what the facilities for the players are like behind the scenes but I have seen the public areas and the media and broadcasting facilities which are truly state of the art.

It is such a pity that the Philippe Chatrier Court has not been enjoyed by full to capacity crowds due to the ongoing Corona virus limitations that have been in place.

The recently opened Simonne Mathieu showcourt is surrounded by beautiful gardens and glasshouses which take you around the world in eighty plants.

This year’s championships have taken us around the world in 14 days in terms of players, and we are down to just eight players from seven different countries,

Novak Djokovic, Serbia:

Stefanos Tsitsipas, Greece:

Diego Schwartzman, Argentina:

Rafa Nadal, Spain:

Iga Swiatek, Poland:

Petra Kvitova, Czech Republic:

Sofia Kenin, USA:

Nadia Podoroska, Argentina:

Which two will walk off with the trophies?

We will soon know.
