Andy Murray hilarious charity TV sketch

Andy Murray and retired English footballer Peter Crouch faced off in the ultimate sporting challenge for the BBC’s Children In Need charity appeal.

Crouch and Murray took part in a unique match-up as they each tried to take home the Pudsey Cup.

The tongue-in-cheek TV sketch sees Crouch return to his roots after he chose football over tennis as a youngster, and Murray has accepted the challenge to test his skills.

The challenge took place at LTA’s National Tennis Centre, but in a special twist the duo actually competed in a game of Padel Tennis.

The contest – which has become one of Europe’s fasting growing grassroot sports – is a form of tennis which is sociable and easy to play.

Peter said: “I’ve finally had the chance to fulfil my dreams of being a tennis star with the help of ‘BBC Children in Need’!

“I’m so glad I could be a part of something that helps so many children across the UK.”

Murray added: “Crouchy challenged me a while back to a game of tennis, apparently he used to be quite good. I’m quite sure he wasn’t prepared for Padel though.”

Within 48 hours the 2020 appeal had raised over £37 million.
