The back injury which forced Stefanos Tsitipas to quit last month’s ATP Finals three games into his second match is healing slowly.
That’s the update from the sixth-ranked Greek who lost a group match at the season wrapup to Holger Rune and had to quit in pain against Jannik Sinner.
The player who is never at a loss for words, gave a detailed explanation of where he currently stands with his recovery efforts.
” The injury was very painful psychologically because I couldn’t finish the last tournament of the year.
“It had a big impact on my body. In the days after the Finals, I found it difficult to wake up and get out of bed.
“In fact , the pain I felt for a week or two was very bad,” he told the Adelaide Now website.
Tsitsipas explained: “It’s getting better, I’m getting better. I am doing many things every day to reduce the pain
“I have as much as possible and as quickly as possible to get back to normal. It will take a little time. “I’m still not 100% per cent.”
