Gael Monfils waited for nearly two years before finally securing another ATP finals spot, with the French showman on Saturday reaching the title at the ATP event in Stockholm.
The 37-year-old is the oldest finalist in tournament history at the Kungligahallen after eliminating Serb Laslo Djere 7-5, 6-2 in their semi-final.

Monfils grabbed a 40 lead in the opening set but ended up having to fight his way to victory with wins in eight of the final 10 games of Scandinavian the thriller. He converted five of seven break points and threw down nine aces on the way to the win over Djere.
Finalist Kotova, ranked 125, hammered 25 winners in his victory over third seed Tallon Griekspoor.
