Carlos Alcaraz is due for his first hit on the Wimbledon grass on Friday after pulling out of a local exhibition to let lingering injuries heal.
The weekend titlewinner at Queen’s Club has opted to skip an appearance at Hurlingham, London, where he was to have had a hit-out with Dominic Thiem.
He previously withdrew from a similar practice match against Holger Rune.
Instead, the 20-year-old Spaniard who will be top-seeded when Wimbledon starts on Monday will give groin and right leg problems an additional day to heal.
Spanish media report that Alcaraz was able to squeeze in a round of golf with coach Juan Carlos Ferrero in London.
The youngster will make his start at the All England Club on Tuesday.
