Juan Martin del Potro on Wednesday underwent a third operation on a knee he injured in late 2018, with the former US Open champion hoping to finally put the frustrating injury behind him.
The medical procedure in Switzerland on the Argentine’s right knee was performed in Bern by Dr. Roland Biedert. who has consulted with both Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka.
Del Potro suffered the injury in October, 2018 in Shanghai and re-aggravated it more than a year ago at Queen’s club, London.
In the interim the No. 132 has been unable to compete on the ATP. The setback followed almost a decade of wrist problems which required multiple surgeries after his 2009 US Open title.
